Anna McEvoy Staples on juggling it all and her first Mother's Day

Anna McEvoy Staples hasn't looked back since first appearing on television screens across the country in 2019, and leads an equal parts busy and accomplished life today.

She might be showing up for her community on social media in a wholly relatable way one minute, and discussing topics ranging from health and relationships to fashion and beauty with co-host Matt Zukowski on their Where’s Your Head At podcast the next, all while developing products for her successful skincare brand.

It’s safe to say the entrepreneur, creator and media personality doesn’t do things by halves, and last year Anna added motherhood to her growing list of achievements.

As she prepares to celebrate her first Mother’s Day, Anna shares with us what her perfect day would look like, how she balances running a business with navigating the joys and challenges of parenthood, and her key piece of advice for other mums and mother figures out there.

Your career has been a varied and impressive one! What have the highlights been?

It’s been a fun ride but for me starting GOLDEE BEE is my proudest moment. The brand is so authentic and aligned with who I am and I love that we give women confidence everyday to feel like the best versions of themselves.

How about the biggest learnings?

There have been so many lessons and learnings. Always follow your intuition, act quickly, and mistakes are lessons. If something doesn’t ‘work out’ the way you wanted it to, it’s just a realignment.

As a working mum, how do you juggle it all?

Some days I feel so on top of it all. Being a business owner, a mum, wife, friend. Other days I am a mess and nothing goes right. The beauty is found when you keep going anyway, and keep showing up as the best version of you every day.

What advice would you give other mums and mother figures?

Mums are incredible and we can do anything we put our minds to! My advice to other mums is to take care of yourself. When our cup is full, our family reaps the benefits!

How did you come up with the GOLDEE BEE concept?

Being born in the UK, I have naturally very fair skin. GOLDEE BEE for me wasn’t just about starting a brand, it’s my way of life.

Tanning has always given me a level of confidence that is unexplainable. It makes me feel like I can take on anything, and I wanted to share that with my community. We worked very hard to create our triple hydrating range, which we are super proud of.

What are your favourite products, and what’s next for GOLDEE BEE?

I am so proud of all of the products in our triple hydrating range. If I had to pick one, it would be our face tanning mist – it has sold out three times and is such a beautiful product. We have a very exciting launch coming in July, so keep your eyes peeled, this product will be the best on the market!

What does your perfect Mother’s Day look like?

This is my first Mother’s Day! Last Mother’s Day I was nine months pregnant, waiting for Suede to arrive. It honestly feels surreal how much life can change in a year.

A slow morning, a coffee in bed, cuddles with my boys, and maybe something sentimental I can keep forever. The simple things just mean so much more now.

What inspired the Where’s Your Head At podcast? What do you hope to achieve there?

Matt and I started the podcast when we were both single, and it has evolved through two marriages, a baby and many fun stories. It’s such a great outlet for both of us. Our listeners love tuning in to relax and to laugh out loud with us. It’s a lot of fun!

Finally, what’s coming up in your world?

I have a really big year ahead, lots of exciting things coming for GOLDEE BEE and lots of travel. Personally for me happiness is my main focus. Sometimes it’s the little in between moments that become the most special, so just making lots of memories with my family and friends.
