How homewares brand Fazeek brings joy to daily life

Eye-catching designs. Uplifting pops of colour. Making every day that little bit brighter.

Melbourne-based Fazeek handcrafts vibrant, mood-lifting products for the home, and is perhaps best known for its now signature glassblown – a technique that ensures every piece is wholly unique – Wave Coupes.

The range extends beyond these, too. There’s glassblown urns and carafes through to candles and interior sprays, and they can be found at David Jones here in Australia, Anthropologie in the UK, and countless independent boutiques both locally and abroad.

Founder and Creative Director, Jackie Fazekas launched the brand in 2017, and the focus was initially on hand-painted linens, followed by soaps – which saw a collaboration with Gorman in 2019, and candles.

Read on as Jackie, who at Fazeek draws on a varied career in fashion, textiles, hospitality and homewares, reveals her highlights to date, delves into the brand’s ethos, and shares her homewares must-haves.

How do you draw on your multifaceted design background at Fazeek?

The design side perfectly complements my creative approach to homewares design, and my hospitality experience gives me unique insight into how people love to dine and entertain.

I like to think this means I can create thoughtfully inspired ranges that blend functionality with style.

Are you able to talk us through how the brand has grown and evolved over the years?

Like many creative design businesses, Fazeek has evolved through several phases before arriving at glassware. We began with hand-painted linens, later expanding into handcrafted soaps and candles.

Launching our new home fragrance range is particularly exciting, as this is where it all began.

It feels like a return to our roots – blending creativity, craftsmanship, and sensory experience as we relaunch and give our three signature scents the glow-up they truly deserve – elevated, refined, and unmistakably Fazeek. And trust us, this is just the beginning.

… And how about your role within the business?

My role at Fazeek has always been Creative Director, but as with many small businesses, this also means taking on a variety of responsibilities beyond the creative. One day I might be focused on marketing, the next on finance, and another on shaping the overall strategy of the company. The dynamic nature of the role keeps things exciting – no two days are ever the same.

What have the biggest highlights or "pinch me moments" been to date?

I’d have to say one of the most memorable moments was the launch of our signature Wave Coupe. In our first release, we sold 300 units in just two minutes. It was incredible to see such an enthusiastic response. It’s still surreal to think that a design I created continues to resonate so strongly with our customers to this day.

What’s Fazeek’s signature product or range, and how would you say it epitomises the brand’s ethos?

Our signature design, the Wave Glassware Collection, seamlessly combines sculptural elegance with everyday functionality.

It epitomises Fazeek’s brand ethos because we believe in creating pieces that bring joy to daily life – never stuffy or conventional, but thoughtfully designed to be admired, cherished, and used. Each piece is handcrafted with care to elevate everyday moments.

How do you come up with fresh ideas for new products or ranges, and then bring them to life?

To spark fresh ideas, I draw inspiration from travel, fashion, and unique dining experiences. From there, it’s a thoughtful and rewarding journey collaborating closely with my team as we meticulously sample and refine each piece until it feels just right.

Sustainable and ethical practices are important to you. How are they woven throughout the Fazeek business?

Ethical and sustainable practices remain prominent in our thinking at Fazeek. We support women-led businesses in our manufacturing, and focus on hand-crafted products in our home fragrance range. They do good while making you feel good.

What are your design or homewares styling no-nos?

For me, there are no absolute 'no-no's.' Something may not align with my personal style, but that doesn’t automatically make it unacceptable.

The only non-negotiable for me is usability – because no matter how good something looks, if it isn’t functional, what’s the use?

… And how about must-haves?

First and foremost, a beautiful dining table – where food, drinks, and laughter can be shared with family and friends, after all it is the heart of the home.

We also keep a record player nearby, as music is an essential part of our atmosphere, whether we're entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet dinner. And finally, a comfortable couch in the living room offers the perfect place to unwind and take a moment for myself at the end of the day.

We’ve noticed a thought-provoking statement across some of Fazeek’s platforms: “Because life is too short to be boring.” How do you inject a little fun into your everyday?

I’m lucky enough to design homewares that I surround myself with – pieces that bring joy and a sense of delight every time I use them. My hope is that our customers experience that same feeling each time they use them.
